You’ll find our temporary location at Courtland Center (4190 E. Court St., Burton). Visitors should use the main entrance (Entrance A) and then look for the Library signage just east of Sloan Museum @ Courtland. Plenty of free parking is available, and the mall is served by the #10 bus (Richfield Rd.).  Standard safety protocols are in place,

We are following State of Michigan guidelines as far as being open vs. closed.  You can always check fpl.info or call us at 810.232.7111 if you would like to confirm that we are open.

Give Virtual Story Time a Try!

Most of us probably would agree that virtual events don’t replace in-person activities.  However, they do have some benefits.  One of the biggest benefits we’re seeing is that more people can participate because transportation is not an issue.

Our virtual story time is a great example.  If you’ve never been to a Saturday Story Time at the Library, why not give it a try virtually?  Your kids will love the stories, crafts, silly songs, dances and more that our children’s librarians select with fun in mind.  You’re doing something important for your kids and their futures, and having a good time in the process.  You don’t even have to leave your house or worry about changing clothes.  What’s not to love?

We’ve also noticed that this can be a nice opportunity for youngsters to see their friends!  We’ll get kids waving on Zoom and saying “hi” as they engage in the stories.  In fact, there’s no reason why you can’t invite your child’s friends to participate as well.  Story Time is open to anyone…just visit our website and click the Zoom link to get involved.

We are also restarting Bookie Babies story time (virtually) for children up to two years of age. Parents, please join us to learn storytelling techniques for the very young! Our programs for this age feature lots of finger play, rhyming and expression.  We’ll focus on skills that will help you get your children ready to read.

In a year where schools have struggled to maintain learning standards, the Library can be a powerful resource for your family.

We look forward to seeing you online soon!
