Plenty of free parking is available, and the mall is served by the #10 bus (Richfield Rd.).  Standard safety protocols are in place,

We are following State of Michigan guidelines as far as being open vs. closed.  You can always check fpl.info or call us at 810.232.7111 if you would like to confirm that we are open.

Time to Stock Up!

The Friends of Flint Public Library are conducting a used book sale on May 20 from 10:00am-4:00pm at the Farmers Market (outside pavilion nearest MSU).  This is a great time to stock up on reading materials for the summer, especially if you know that you are going to be spending more time at home, or if you have young people in your life who need to keep reading over the summer.

Summer reading is absolutely critical for kids.  Reading just 3-4 books over the summer can dramatically improve their reading skills, as well as their ability to start school prepared to read in the fall.  If you’re not sure how to get your kids involved in summer reading, bring them to the book sale and whet their appetites with all the choices!  And don’t forget the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge starting in June, which makes reading fun and rewarding for kids of all ages.

Books make great gifts, wonderful surprises to perk up a rainy day, and are something you can share with family and friends.  Stop by the Friends book sale to pick up some bargains!  And remember that every dollar you spend will go back to Flint Public Library to help support our programs for patrons of all ages.

Do you have some books you want to donate?  This is a good way to clean out the shelves and make room for new favorites, while supporting your Library!  The Friends offer monthly opportunities to drop off books.  Check our online calendar for the next opportunity.

And of course, you can always visit the Library to pick up some amazing reading and entertainment.

Visit fpl.info for our hours, calendar, downloads, and much more.
