Garden Distribution Day

Edible Flint & Dozens of Volunteers
The Greater Flint Community Will Grow!

More than 300 folks planning their gardens drove through Neighborhood Engagement Hub’s parking lot to have Edible Flint volunteers place wonderfully “growing” vegetable transplants into the trunk of their car on May 21.

A big Kitchen Garden ranged from tomatoes to collards to eggplant to watermelon and a Greens Kit of 12 transplants of collards, cabbage and kale, or 10 pepper transplants (a variety of ‘heats’) and a great start of the herb garden with 5 herbs!

PLUS  nearly 300 30 pound bags of compost were hefted by a tough multi-age team! Volunteers of all ages shaped the day and the growing season.

Thank you!
