Q. Kia, I would like to travel more and see the world, but I find myself being reluctant to travel due to all the unrest around the world. I don’t want to fall prey to fear, but I am having a hard time making the first step to schedule a trip. What advice would you give me in terms of just going ahead and scheduling one of the trips I would like to take?

A. I suggest you seek the will of God and follow where he leads you. Your reluctance reflects a significant degree of wisdom, which is a gift from God. Wisdom is by no means fear; it is obedience to the Will of God. Again, I suggest you pray, and listen for direction from God, and be obedient to His voice.

Q. I am waiting to hear from a realtor regarding the selling of my home. We’ve had several prospects that have all fallen through, and I can’t move forward to purchase the home I want until I can close on my present one. I am feeling overwhelmed with frustration and trying not to become depressed. How can I avoid these feelings?

A. Know that patience is a virtue, and that God’s plan for you will come to fruition in His perfect timing. With patience and trust in the Lord, you will be blessed with the home you desire; and will even be glad that the previous ones were inaccessible. I suggest you choose to think positive and wait patiently for God’s blessings to unfold.

Q. What can I do to convince my husband that I am not cheating on him? He seems to be getting increasingly paranoid every day. I’m sure that the fact that I am one of only two females in my workplace, and my job requires frequent overtime. I’m beginning to feel depressed and angry by his constant accusations. What can I do?

A. It appears your husband is experiencing feelings of insecurity due to the nature of your employment. Know that it is impossible for you to determine how your husband feels or handles his insecurities. There is no situation or circumstance that does not warrant prayer. I suggest you pray about it and ask God to open your husband’s eyes to the truth. You might also encourage your husband to join you in couple’s therapy to address and seek to resolve the distrust in the relationship.
