Holiday Break Entertainment

It is coming… that week (or more) of vacation time during the holidays. If you are already dreading the “I’m bored” comments from your kids, then plan now to visit Flint Public Library! We have many options to keep your kids busy during their vacation time.

You can stop by the Library to check out materials, or access many of them through our website at fpl.info. Now is a great time to get a Library card so you are ready for the holidays! Just stop by a Service Desk with your ID and we can set you up. If you can’t make it to the Library for a card, don’t worry. You can get an E-Card online and use it to access all our web-based resources.

Check out a Launchpad. If your child is into technology, then make reading fun with a portable tablet series that you can use in the Library or check out. Each tablet is preloaded with different age-appropriate content to help children learn reading skills. No Wi-Fi access is required to use them.

Try one of our Playaway Books. These are self-contained audio books that you can check out. Plug the universal jack into any headphone and your child can get absorbed in many different kinds of age-appropriate stories.

Download magazines. We have some of the most popular kids’ magazines available for download, including National Geographic Kids, Highlights for Children, and more.

Fun and Games: visit the Library to use our computers or use your own device to access our huge collection of kids fun and games online. Just click “For Kids” on our homepage.

Drop-In Days. On Dec. 28-30, you can drop in from 2:00-5:00pm for a variety of activities geared towards our youngest patrons.

Watch a movie. All you need is a Library card, and you can stream thousands of movies for free from our website!

Hope to see you soon!
