A Mini State of the State Message

Last year, we made some game-changing investments in Michigan’s economy. We brought supply chains home, secured thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs, and continued leading the future of cars, chips, and clean energy. We continued expanding pathways to higher education by lowering costs, empowering hardworking Michiganders to apply their skills and build a great life in Michigan.

From creating the bipartisan economic development fund to taking advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act to lower the cost of doing business in Michigan, I have worked across the aisle and signed bipartisan legislation empowering us to compete for transformational projects, bring billons in investment to Michigan, and create thousands of good-paying jobs. Together, we are making sure Michigan is the clear choice for people deciding where to live, work, and raise their families. We’re making Michigan home.

We still have work to do to ensure that young people in Michigan are confident that our beautiful state is where they want to build their future. Providing access to an affordable education, guaranteeing a good-paying job, and protecting their fundamental freedoms will help us do just that. As we continue getting things done to build a brighter future for Michigan, I want to hear from young people about what they think needs to get done to keep or bring them to Michigan.

Take a couple minutes and let me know your thoughts at:  https://forms.leo.state.mi.us/govoffice/why-michigan/ on making Michigan the place to be. Whether you were born and raised in this state or if you recently moved here, I want to hear your story.
