Q. Kia, I find myself feeling sad and helpless with constant thoughts about the state of the world today. The repeated shootings and killing of innocent people with so many people in governing positions not appearing to care as much about human life as they do about money and power. What can I, and regular people like me, do to change or make a difference in this troubling predicament we are presently experiencing?
A. I encourage you to think about the truth of God’s Word, which tells us to not worry nor fear; that He is our God and will help and strengthen us in whatever situation or circumstance. Please go to Isaiah 41:10 in your Bible. Read and meditate on God’s promise and believe that His every promise is true, and that it is impossible for Him to lie. Then surrender all your thoughts and worries to Him and wait patiently for His Will to unfold. God sees and knows all things, and He is in full control. Trust that He always does what is best, and in His perfect timing His plans for us will unfold. I also encourage you to accept the fact that it is impossible for us to fully understand the ways of God. But what we do know is that He is All Powerful, All Knowing, and Perfect in all His ways.
Please continue to pray for love and peace to reign over all the earth. God hears and answers our prayers in His perfect way and timing.
Q. Why do you think it is Kia, that so many people seem to fall for the lies and deceptions of the devil which clearly lead to negative and harmful situations, rather than believe and follow the truths of what the Bible tells us. Why do you think people just cannot love one another and live in peace and harmony?
A. I suppose you can consider the truth of a couple of old sayings I heard a long time ago; ‘Everything that glitters is not gold,’ and ‘everything that looks good to you is not good for you.’ We are blessed with a conscience, which is the window to our souls through which God speaks to us. And God has also blessed us with an inborn sense of right and wrong. The key to good and right behavior is to listen and follow our conscience. There is a constant battle in our lives between good and evil. God is Good, and the devil is evil. We have to choose who we will follow. And we must know that our choices will determine where, and with whom, we spend eternity. God IS Good All the Time. Follow Him.
