EBFE’s May Performances & Exciting Upcoming Events!

EBFE’s May Performances & Exciting Upcoming Events!May is full of exciting events and performances from El Ballet Folklórico Estudiantil & Mariachi! On Cinco De Mayo, the mariachi performed at the Saginaw VA Hospital to appreciative hospital staff and veterans, followed by an educational performance in Imlay city, where the community was inspired by the history of the holiday and our student mariachis’ skill. This was followed by the Michigan Youth (M.Y.) Mariachi Festival in Ann Arbor on May 9th, where mariachi  instructors and students from Flint, Detroit, and Ann Arbor held a mariachi music workshop and impressive culminating performance presented by their respective ensembles. We are so proud of our instructors for leading the workshop and our students for participating in  this important cultural event!

And we have a few more exciting performances on the  horizon! On May 26th at 6:30pm, our mariachi will  be performing at the Cristo Rey Fiesta in Lansing yet again! We look forward to this event every year and hope to see you there (201 W Miller Rd, Lansing, MI  48911). And on June 16th, our dancers and musicians will be special guests of the Lapeer Symphony Orchestra (LSO) Concert. This event, which was initially postponed due to the pandemic, will now be held in June, location TBD. Our music director, Michael Abbasspour, will also be featured as a soloist. As soon as tickets are available, we will post the links on our  website (ebfedance.org) and Facebook page.
