The 2nd Annual Health Fair at LTCC exceeded expectations with its exceptional turnout and diverse range of health resources. The fair featured a comprehensive selection of services, including health screenings facilitated by medical students and physician attendees, vaccinations, and resource information sessions conducted by local healthcare providers and organizations. One of the highlights of the event was covid -19 vaccinations administered by Hamilton Community Health Network and promoted by Flint Innovative Solutions. Recognizing the importance of immunizations in preventing illnesses and diseases, LTCC collaborated with local health authorities such as the County Health Department to offer various vaccines, including those recommended for individuals of all ages. This initiative not only helped increase vaccination rates but also emphasized the center’s dedication to community health.

In addition to vaccinations, the Health Fair provided vital health screenings, allowing attendees to check their blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar, kidney health, STI’s and HIV. These screenings aimed to raise awareness about common health conditions and empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding their well-being.

Beyond the health resources, the LTCC’s Health Fair offered some engaging activities to promote an active and fun-filled lifestyle. Rock climbing, a favorite among attendees, provided an opportunity for both children and adults to challenge themselves physically while fostering a sense of camaraderie. The climbing wall, equipped with professional instructors and safety measures, ensured a thrilling yet safe experience for all participants.

The fair also featured interactive demonstrations, including a Zumba session. These activities not only encouraged physical fitness but also emphasized the importance of holistic well-being, encompassing mental and emotional health. The success of the 2nd Annual Health Fair at LTCC was made possible by the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders. Local healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and community volunteers came together to ensure a well-rounded event that catered to the unique needs of the Latinx community in Flint.
