Let’s Go to the Library!

It’s July… and it’s that time every parent or caregiver dreads. This is the season when all kids seem to echo that age-old refrain, “I’m bored!”

We have a cure for those summertime blues! There’s something going on at the Library every day that we’re open. From movies to magic shows, from story time to yoga, there’s always something fun and free at the Library. And don’t forget our “All Together Now” Summer Reading Club that involves everyone from the youngest of children to the most venerable of grandparents.

This month, we are also featuring some extremely cool programs for teens in our Digital Studio. In addition to being fun and social, these programs expose teens to exciting digital resources that can jumpstart their interest in lucrative career options.

  • Green Screen Workshop: teaches teens how to plan and film a short movie with friends as we explore video editing and green screen special effects.
  • Learn & Make Week: a week of 3D and graphic design! We’ll be designing a a 3D-printable keychain or bookmark, temporary tattoos or stickers, and buttons
  • Video Week: Develop and play your own video game and create a stop motion animation video!
