Shelter of Flint Preparing to Host Annual Fundraiser Breakfast

Shelter of Flint is thrilled to announce its upcoming fundraising event, A Home of Their Own, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 7:30 to 8:30 AM. The event will be held at the Ascension Genesys Banquet and Conference Center, located at 805 Health Park Blvd in Grand Blanc, and promises to be an inspiring morning of community, compassion, and commitment to addressing homelessness in the Flint area.

The A Home of Their Own Breakfast event aims to shed light on the critical issue of homelessness in our community and raise funds to support Shelter of Flint’s mission to provide safe housing, independence, and stability to those in need. “This event embodies our commitment to providing not just housing, but a fresh start and renewed hope for those we serve.

“We are so grateful to our community for coming together to support the hard work Shelter of Flint’s staff and clients do every day to achieve our mission,” remarked Shelter of Flint CEO, Linda Bielskis.

The event will be emceed by ABC12 news anchor and Shelter of Flint board member, Angie Hendershot, and will feature impactful stories from Shelter of Flint clients who have transitioned from homelessness to finding stable and secure housing.

The H. William Reising Award, honoring individuals and organizations who have shown extraordinary commitment to Shelter of Flint’s clients, will be presented to community partner, Snuggle Sacks.

Snuggle Sacks provides survival kits containing food, toiletries, cold weather gear, and other necessities to homeless individuals.

The event’s Title sponsor is ELGA Credit Union and has received additional sponsorships from Piper Management, Team One Credit Union, Molina, HAP, MTA, Edward Jones, Bobby Mukkamala and Nita Kulkarni, Taylor & Morgan, Security First Insurance, and Kettering University.
