Celebrate MLK Jr. Day at the Library

In 1985, Gloria Coles was the director of Flint Public Library and decided to host a program to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Library. Gloria Coles thought Dr. King’s words of brotherhood, hope and peace were important to the entire community.

Dr. King’s words and values were important in 1985 and they continue to resonate today. The MLK Jr. program is an annual event hosted by Gloria Coles Flint Public Library that celebrates and unites people in honor of Dr. King.

Please join us on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 2:00-4:00pm for this community celebration that will center on literacy and embody the 2024 theme established by the King Center for this year, “It All Starts with Me.”  The day will be filled with song, spoken word, and community conversations. All are welcome!

Find more information about programs, services, and more by visiting the Library’s website at fpl.info. We look forward to welcoming you in 2024!
