Communities First Inc. celebrated the grand opening of The Grand on University apartments with a ribbon cutting ceremony in late December.
The nearly $17 million project at the intersection of Grand Traverse and University Avenue in Flint’s historic Carriage Town neighborhood is the largest new housing complex to open in the area for several years.
The complex is marketed toward people at several mixed income levels with additional retail floor space available.
Developers and dignitaries from many levels spoke prior to the ribbon cutting celebrating, not only this new development, but the work of Communities First and their commitment to providing affordable housing in the city of Flint and beyond.
