Many literacy experts will tell you that a child should experience someone reading aloud to him or her at least 1,000 times before kindergarten. That’s a lot of reading! But when adults teach kids to love reading early in life, it does nothing but help those kids succeed.
Our storytime programs can help you make reading fun and exciting for the kids in your life, especially the young ones. We’ve added several new storytimes to our lineup of tried and true favorites. They’re at different days and times, too, so that you can find something that fits your schedule.
- Toddle Time Storytime: babies and toddlers can enjoy books, bouncing, clapping, songs, rhymes and play especially for them.
- Wee Ones Storytime Yoga: This weekly program series will incorporate a yoga or movement story to help babies, toddlers and children with communication skills, and positive body awareness.
- Preschool Storytime: 0-5 year olds enjoy books, rhymes, songs, puppets and play.
- Super Saturday Storytime Tell A Tail: Certified therapy dogs come into the library for your child’s read aloud practice.
