Social Security recently celebrated its 88th anniversary.
Social Security is a lifeline for millions of Michigan seniors. For some, their only income.
In Congress, my priority is ensuring that Michiganders who worked their entire lives and contributed with every paycheck can rely on this earned benefit when they retire.
That’s why I introduced Social Security 2100, a bill to increase Social Security benefits for Michigan seniors by ensuring the wealthiest Americans—those making over $400,000 a year—pay into Social Security at the same rate as teachers, firefighters, factory workers, and other hard working Mid-Michigan employees.
In Congress, I am committed to protecting and strengthening Social Security because when you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to be able to retire with dignity.
Sincerely,
Dan Kildee
