MADE Institute in Flint Begins Residential Carpenter Specialist Apprenticeship Program

The MADE Institute, a leading vocational training institution in Flint, Michigan, is excited to announce the launch of its Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program in partnership with GST Michigan Works! This program is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career in the carpentry industry.

The Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive training program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience. Apprentices will learn the fundamental principles of carpentry, including blueprint reading, framing, finishing, and safety procedures. In addition, they will be able to work alongside experienced carpenters on real-world projects, gaining valuable on-the-job training.

The Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program is open to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced carpenters looking to enhance their skills. Apprentices will be required to complete 309 hours of classroom instruction taught by Kettering University and Penn Foster and between 3900-6000 hours of on-the-job training over the next two years. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will receive a nationally recognized credential from the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship as a Residential Carpenter Specialist.
