Once again, our radar sign has moved to a new neighborhood, close to a neighborhood park.
Thanks to our volunteers, who install the sign, change batteries when needed, and track traffic numbers.
We’re gathering more data to share with our city officials and police. Here’s what the situation looks like with our sign in covert mode near a park.
- Compliant drivers – 31 %
- Low risk drivers – 35 %
- Medium risk drivers – 22 %
- High risk drivers -12 % which averages out to 39 vehicles per day.
But how much data will it take before Flint drivers slow down?
Let’s hope this data brings changes and not personal injury or death. If we pay attention to the numbers. We can rest assured that our children, bikers, pedestrians, and elderly are safe walking our streets or visiting our parks.
We have also been blessed with a second radar sign to place in problem areas in your neighborhood! If you have a location in your area that desperately needs some attention, please contact us at traffictamingflint@gmail.com
Thank you to all the people that are making this happen. Both inside our city government, police forces and Taming Traffic Task Force.
The Taming Traffic Taskforce meets the first Monday of each month, via zoom, at 4 p.m.
If you would like to join us, send us an email at traffictamingflint@gmail.com, and we will send our meeting information to you.
